Class Types

  • Jazz class focuses on the fundamentals of jazz, such as isolations, positioning, and connecting movements, as well as technique, flexibility, agility, leaps and turns.

  • Ballet is a form of dancing which may tell a story, express a mood, or just reflect a piece of music. Beyond beauty and grace, Ballet is known to be the foundation of other dance forms. Students learn traditional techniques as well as develop grace, strength, body awareness, rhythm, concentration, self-discipline, and much more all while having fun and staying active!

  • This class is the ultimate way to express one’s creativeness in dances that come from the soul. The dances include popping, locking, breaking, and free-styling all of which represent movements that are incorporated with the rhythm and beat of hip hop music. Hip-Hop is not only a good exercise, but helps dancers develop body balance, improve flexibility, and coordinate the muscles. This class allows one to discover and develop their own freestyle ability.

  • This class starts with a warm-up that focuses on flexibility, balance, alignment, and strength. There is a strong focus on ballet technique while also allowing students to find connectivity and fluidity in their own movement style.

  • Musical theater dancing is less of a particular style, and more of a description of dancing that is rooted in the diverse history of Broadway musicals. Relying heavily on a knowledge of ballet, tap, and jazz, musical theater dancers are, first and foremost, actors and place a high focus on musical interpretation. Partner dancing has always been intertwined in musical theater and is becoming more and more prevalent as ballroom dance begins to be the focus of more and more live stage productions.

  • Rhythm and musicality are the building blocks of a tap class. Students will learn the fundamental steps of tap and how to piece them together to create their own music.

  • Contemporary dance is a style of interpretive dance that blends ballet, jazz, lyrical, and acro and can be both structured or abstract.

  • Acro dance incorporates acrobatic movements into dance. Dancers incorporate gymnastic moves such as handsprings, cartwheels and handstands into their dance routine to the rhythm of the music.
